Treatment For Warts

I remember when I was young I had some warts on my hand and my mother was told that the  best wart treatment was to go to a field and bury some money there in exchange for them going away. Funny idea, but do you know what? It worked! Warts no more for this child! Now I am not going to suggest that this is one of the best treatments available but sometimes  natural wart remedies can be pretty impressive.

Different Types of Warts and Skin Growths and Their Best Natural Treatment

Warts can be of several forms, some painful like the Planter’s Wart, others causing very little or no discomfiture at all like the common or Flat variety while some again are positively distressing like the Genital Warts. Though they are mostly caused by human papilloma virus (HPV), they are benign (non-carcinogenic) epidermal eruptions that often go away on their own.

These skin eruptions can affect any area of the body but they are mostly found on the hands, feet and fingers. In fact they tend to appear in the moist warm places where they can grow in clusters or take the shape of cauliflower heads or simple pin heads having the color of normal skin. Kids generally pick up the infection (HPV) while using towels or napkins used by an infected person. Even walking barefoot on the bathmat or swimming pool diving areas that have come into contact with an HPV infected man or woman can cause an unwarranted infection whose immune system is weaker than the average.

The commonest type, termed Common Warts, occur as grayish-brown dome-shaped rough surfaced epidermal bumps on hands, elbows, knees as well as on fingers of both males and females, often taking the shape of cauliflower heads with blackish markings inside. They are innocent harmless little projections on the body that create no more problem than creating some amount of cosmetic crises.

Flat Warts on the other hand are flat-topped smooth skin bumps, as against the Common type’s roughish, cauliflower-looking sinister appearance. In most cases, they occur on the face but having them on the arms, legs hands and knee in cluster formation is not uncommon too.

The most painful are Planter’s Warts and heaven help the person who has got them on the soles of the feet. Even ambling on a smooth surfaced tarmac will give such a person the feeling of walking barefoot over sharp stone chips. In other words, it is a torture for the fellow to enjoy a simple promenade.

Filiform Warts are tiny finger-like flesh-colored growths often growing around the eyes or the mouth or nose. Though disagreeable in looks, they are completely harmless otherwise.

Of all the growths that the HPV creates, for human discomfort, Genital Warts are the worst type. Appearing indiscriminately on the penis, vulva or the anal region in both men and women these cauliflower-looking things, when irritated can cause itching, burning, including severe discomfort and distress, often making sexual intercourse extremely painful.

Removal

Though they usually do not require any medical treatment as they mostly go away on their own, certain forms necessitate  wart removal by using OTC medications that should be topically applied repeatedly till they disappear. They may also be removed by a surgeon with the help of an electrically overheated needle or ‘frozen to death’ with liquid nitrogen through Cryosurgery, otherwise known as wart freeze. For recalcitrant clusters, laser therapy could possibly be the last word.

Genital warts needs to be removed due to their ability to spread, and to cause cervical cancer in women. Women may have these without knowing, due to the anatomical nature of the female genital organs, and a medical examination by a doctor may be necessary to discover their presence. In males, the condylomas are easily observed, and may easily be eradicated.

There are however very good  natural treatment options available for all types of warts, molluscs, skin tags and genital condylomas. They are safe, efficient and easy to use, and do not cause any discomfort, skin irritation or irritation of the mucous membranes during treatment. They are special and specific blends of essential oils designed to inactivate the viruses involved, and removing the skin growths without leaving scars.

Home Remedy Freeze Warts Or Go To a Specialist

Many people may be curious as to whether or not they can freeze skin tags and warts at home.

After all, these things tend to pop up and hang around indefinitely unless you do something about them, and it sure would be nice if there was an easy way to get rid of them using something over the counter. The alternative of course is to go and have them removed by a doctor.

The problem with a doctor’s program is your insurance often will not pay, so that will leave you with a big old bill to pay all out of your own pocket. Further, you may be required by your insurance to get a referral, and that means you must schedule first an appointment with your general practitioner only to be referred to a specialist, usually a dermatologist.

Anyway, on to the subject at hand, can these pesky tags be removed at home? Basically, yes they can, but unfortunately it is usually not possible to actually freeze them. The reason for this is that the kits you can buy in the store that are used for freezing moles don’t work very well. They are simply not strong enough. They don’t come close to what you can have done by a professional.

You may, however find some treatments that work for  freezing warts and skin tags online. Just do your research well before you buy

So, although there are various do-it-yourself methods for removing unsightly tags, if you want to freeze skin tags you’re maybe going to need to trek in to your doctor’s office to get it done. You can use this as a last resort though since it is probably the most expensive method for removal.

Removing Genital Warts By Freezing

Cryo, coming from the Greek "crystallos" meaning "icy cold" is a prefix that means just what it sounds like. The term "cryotherapy" is when icy cold substances are used to destroy abnormal growths on the body’s dermal layers.

It’s a little wordy, but basically cryotherapy is one of the ways you can get rid of skin lesions and tags without having to worry about high price surgeries or cutting them off yourself.

>  Remove Skin Tags

The basic procedure is simple. After you are looked over by a qualified dermatologist and he agrees to perform the procedure, you will probably be fit into the schedule the same week.

Cryotherapy for skin tags requires that the doctor uses a very cold substance- like liquid nitrogen, argon, or sometimes dry ice- to destroy the cells of the skin tag and make it incapable of growing. There are two main ways that the doctor will do this. Either he will inject the cryogen (the cold substance) directly into the skin tag(s) using a needle like one would expect for a flu shot, or the doctor will coat the skin tags with cryogen using a different instrument. Either way it’s painless and thus no anesthesia is required.

There are  home freeze treatment available too which are applied in smaller doses and gradually

After your bad skin has been injected/coated with the cryogen, all that is left to do is wait for it to die off! If you’ve thought of using cryotherapy for skin tags, then you’re probably excited to know that it’s painless, fast, and can be performed safely. However, keep in mind that a trained physician will generally need to apply the cryotherapy or cryosurgery. This isn’t as expensive as getting a dermatologist to surgically remove the tissues of a skin tag, but it is still fairly costly. Another downside is that the procedure can only cover skin lesions in certain areas without risking harming normal skin.

Methods to remove skin tags, moles, and warts are few and far between. Using cryotherapy for skin tags, moles, warts and other skin abnormalities is definitely one of the better ways if you’re squeamish and don’t like the idea of slicing them off yourself. However you should weigh up the pros and cons of the procedure before making a decision to use cryotherapy for skin tags, moles, and warts removal.

Warts – How to get rid of them Naturally!

Ugh!! Warts! What an embarrassment

Warts can be very ugly and, as in the case of plantar warts, can even be painful. Even though commercially available solutions do help minimize the appearance of warts, it is still difficult to beat natural alternatives

       >>   Eliminate warts quickly and easily. Click here

Natural treatment are cost effective, convenient, whilst being completely safe too. From the outset, it is important to know what drives the wart pathology, and know how to naturally treat them.By knowing such basic information one can avoid the expensive doctor’s visits and help to restore their skin’s health naturally.

The definition of a wart is as a growth or lesion that can appear on any part of the body. Warts are caused by a virus which belongs to the human papilloma variety. Warts become established within the body by entering as small cut or abrasion, which more so than not is so small that the wart may appear as if by magic. A wart can grow for several days before it is recognized.

Most of us who suffer warts understand that they come and go, and can take anywhere from a few weeks to a good part of a year to go away on their own. There are many different treatments available for warts, and these include over the counter preparations that contain various acids that over time erode the skin component of this growth, inducing them to over time dissolve. This method is not recommended for genital warts, as tissue damage can result.

Some seek medical treatment to speed the skin’s recovery, which is usually done via cryosurgery (freezing) or by laser surgery depending upon the severity of the wart. In over the counter or medical options, more than one treatment is often needed before the wart is completely removed. Also, infection can recur if the original virus is still present on the skin or if a person comes in contact with the virus again.

On the other hand, natural treatments for warts are readily available and are easy to use. One of the most sucessful methods is using a piece of duct tape in removing the wart. With this method, the wart may be covered with duct tape for six days. After the six day cycle, the tape can be removed, the wart soaked and then scrubbed with a pumice stone (to exfoliate the skin on the wart) before drying the area thoroughly and reapplying more duct tape for another six day period. The method mentioned should be repeated a number of times, with each cycle degrading the wart.

       >>    Eliminate warts quickly and easily. Click here

get rid of facial wartsMore than one type of tape can be used for this process in the same way. For instance, covering the wart with a band-aid is another useful, effective way to reduce its presence and may be more ascetically pleasing than duct tape. Every six or so days, the band aid arrangement should be removed, and the wart should be dermal abraised between applications.

Other natural treatments for warts include the following:

  •   Applying a banana peel to the wart and securing it with tape
  • Applying apple cider vinegar topically to the wart
  • Daily applications of tea tree oil help reduce the wart and ward off the invading infection
  • Rub the wart with a raw potato several times each day to speed recovery

Needless to say, the best strategy in dealing with warts is to entirely avoid them in the first place. This is best accomplished by maintaining a healthy immune system that protects the body against infection and disease. A healthy diet that avoids processed foods, white sugar, white flour, artificial flavorings, chemical additives, and food coloring is best.

Along with avoiding unnatural foods, a diet that focuses on fresh, natural fruits and vegetables helps to keep the immune system operating at its best, as does proper rest and exercise.

Cryosurgery, Freezing Warts

Cryosurgery is a wart removal treatment where extremely low temperatures are applied to freeze warts. These low temperatures will freeze the plantar wart and destroy its cells. Nearby cells will also be killed by this wart freezing process.

How to Remove Plantar Warts by Cryosurgery

Cryosurgery or cryotherapy is one of the most common wart removal treatments used in the treatment of warts by far.

This wart freezing procedure is not only used to freeze and kill warts but is also used to treat melanoma and other type of cancer.

Cryosurgery can be used to treat both internal and external tumors and warts.

The procedure involved is as follows:

An instrument (called a cryoprobe) is placed in contact with your plantar wart.
Liquid nitrogen is circulated through the cryoprobe.
Ice crystals form and these freeze and kill the cells of your wart.
Your wart is turned into a blister.
Your immune system gets rid of the dead cells.

Cells are killed for various reasons including the following:

Bursting of the cells.
Shortage of blood supply to the cells.
Cells are torn apart by the ice formation within the cells.

Treating a plantar wart with this wart freezing procedure has the advantage that it is less invasive than electrosurgery (a wart removal treatment) that uses an electric current to burn warts). It is also less painful.

The disadvantages of treating plantar warts with cryosurgery include:

Some discoloration in the treated area may occur.
Instead of the wart you will now have a visible scar.
It may take you several visits to the clinic to treat your wart.

Remove Skin Tags, Viral Warts

Warts are one of those things that are simply never popular. They pop up on your skin unwanted, the result of a specific type of virus that seems to only multiply the ugly little skin deformities, and are generally eyesores to anyone involved.

Dermatologists (skin doctors) have made small fortunes just coming up with  treatments for warts . Wart removal is a major business, though with all the expensive treatments out there, more and more people are looking for alternative remedies and finding them in some interesting places.

There’s More Than One Way To Remove A Wart

A common procedure is for a professional doctor to freeze the wart with liquid nitrogen and then to cut it off from the rest of the body.

This is a fairly common and fairly successful procedure. Many people undergo this treatment with a high level of success, the one drawback is that it does tend to be rather painful, at least for a short period of time. Laser surgery is another surgical procedure used by professionals to remove warts. Laser surgery uses a laser to burn and destroy the wart and wart tissue. This procedure is usually done in a professional’s office or a clinic. Some anesthetic might be used depending on where the warts are, how many, where they need to be treated, etc. That is an issue to discuss with the doctor.

A few years ago a study was released actually claiming that duck tape can be used to remove warts. Researchers said duck tape is a more effective, less painful alternative to liquid nitrogen, which is commonly used to freeze warts.

In the study, patients wore duck tape over their warts for six days, then they removed the tape, soaked the area in water, and scraped the spot. The tape was re-applied the next morning. After a few weeks the far majority of patients’ warts went away. The theory is that the duck tape irritated the warts, and that apparently caused an immune system reaction that attacked the growths.

For those who think the duck tape sounds a little odd, and surgery a little extreme, there are plenty of wart removal medicines that individuals can receive over the counter. Most of these are creams, and just need to be applied consistently as the directions order to succeed. Just apply to the area, and presto! Watch as over the week the warts begin to disappear.

Removal Of Warts, Treatment Choices

Warts are small, usually harmless and painless growths on the skin caused by a virus.

hpv treatmentsThe virus is called human papillomavirus (HPV) that resides in the bottom layer of the skin. Different sub-types of HPV cause different kinds of warts.

There are various treatments available

People of all ages, but most commonly children and young adults, are prone to getting warts. They are spread by direct contact, simply by touching the wart. Warts can sometimes be contagious, but transmission from person to person is uncommon. However, warts can be embarrassing and disfiguring, and sometimes itch and hurt.

Warts And Wart Removal Methods

There are different types of warts. Common warts usually appear on the hands, and flat warts are found on the face and forehead. Genital warts are found on the genitals; plantar warts on the soles of the feet, and subungual warts and periungual warts appear under and around the finger nails or toe nails.

Find hpv genital warts treatment here

While some warts cause no discomfort, some are difficult to treat, some disappear without treatment and others do require treatment.

In some cases,  over-the-counter medication can remove warts . The medication is applied to the warts daily for several weeks. For plantar warts that are found on the soles of the feet, special cushions are available at drugstores. These are pads that help relieve any pressure and pain from the warts. For the removal of persistent warts, prescription medication may be required such as surgical removal or removal by freezing, burning or laser treatment.

cryotherapy on corns, wart removalFreezing, which is also known as Cryotherapy, is a method by which liquid nitrogen is applied either as a spray or on a cotton swab to the wart which freezes and kills the effected cells. Although the lesion heals without significant scarring, a blister does form on the area. If the wart is on the foot, this kind of treatment is not the first choice, because it becomes very painful to walk.

Another option is Immunotherapy which triggers the immune system to destroy the virus that causes the wart.

However, since the substances used are expensive, sometimes dangerous and require special handling, they are used as a last resort when all other options fail.

Most wart treatments are successful and the warts disappear for good. The body’s immune system also gets rid of any tiny bits of wart that might be left behind. In some cases, should the warts come back, it is best to seek medical advice on other ways of treating them.

How To Get Rid Of Wart Safely

Wart removal is a necessity to sufferers whose daily activities have been inconvenienced or when the warts badly affect their physical appearances.

It can be rather embarrassing for the victims to face their friends or just about anyone especially when multiple warts develop on their bodies in visible areas.

Wart Removal – Understanding When And How Warts Can Be Removed Safely

Worse still, folks who are ignorant about the causes of warts may mistakenly view the sufferers as lacking in personal hygiene and therefore suffer from multiple ugly warts. As you can see, the impact these warts have upon the individual extends beyond just the physical. Suffering from warts can be detrimental to one’s confidence and self-esteem. This article will walk you through briefly what are the different types of warts, what are the likely causes, and  what can be done to treat face warts .

Warts are mostly harmless skin growths caused by viruses called human papillomavirus. The acronym for this virus is HPV. HPV attacks the cap of the skin, and causes warts to develop. All in all, there are broadly 4 wart types. They are foot or plantar warts, common warts, flat warts and genital warts. Genital warts are perhaps the toughest to deal with.

Foot warts also commonly called plantar warts grow on our soles which are subjected to high pressure all the time. Plantar warts can grow in clusters and look speck-like mosaic tiles giving them the name mosaic warts. They are flat in appearance unlike common warts due to the walking pressures. They are known to cause considerable pain and discomfort to sufferers.  Plantar warts removal then becomes a must. Research has revealed that ground moisture ie wet floors are good breeding grounds for wart-causing viruses. Our feet are constantly subjected to walking pressure and fine skin cracks can easily develop, exposing them to the attack of the plantar wart viruses. This explains why people who share public showers are at higher risks to developing plantar warts than those who don’t.

Common warts appear in skin surfaces which are broken, or fine skin cracks on our hands, particularly on fingers or nails. These cracked skin surfaces make our skin vulnerable to the attack of HPV. If you look at the common warts on your hand, you will notice that there are black dots on the warts that look like small seeds. These are actually the appearance of blood vessels, and people start to call them seed warts. Common warts also tend to be raised above the skin surface, giving it a rough texture.

The third type is flat warts. Children tend to suffer from these warts which look like small minute pinheads, which is why flat warts are also known as juvenile warts. They appear on arms, hands, knees or even on the face and grow in huge numbers sometimes to 100s of them. Kids who suffer from facial warts are a poor lot as they can be painful and itchy and also affect their psychological development.

Wart removal for facial flat warts should be administered when this happens to arrest the problem.

Genital warts are the nastiest of the whole lot.

Genital wart removaltreatment can be found here

Our genital tissues are very sensitive to pain and itch and you can imagine the intensity of discomfort and pain these warts can cause. These warts can resemble little mushrooms or flat bumps and as the name suggests grow on genital areas like the groin, on the penis or anus of men. For the women, they would appear on the cervix, in the vagina, perineal or vulva area. Genital warts are also potentially more dangerous than other warts because of their tendency to develop into malignant growths, ie cancerous. Such warts are normally a result of sexual activities.

Generally, the occurrence of warts is attributed to the exposure of broken skin to the HPV. As such, any activity, or circumstances that could provide such conditions would make it ideal for warts to develop. This explains why warts normally appear on hands of children who love nail-biting. A weak constitution could also make one vulnerable to the viruses. HPV can be transmitted by physical contact with objects used by carriers of these viruses. In short, warts can be contagious and it is best that you avoid sex or direct contact with any known sufferer or share personal items with them. Unfortunately, because of the rather long incubation period these viruses, symptoms are not visible until many months later.

Finally we look at what are the treatment methods available should you seriously need them.

Cyrotherapy is the medical name of the process of  eliminating the warts by freezing them off which needs to be carrried out by a health professional using liquid nitrogen.

The warts can be excised or cut off with sharp scissors or scalpels, or removed using over-the-counter medications containing acidic agents like salicylic. Warts can be cauterized or burnt off, or surgically removed by laser as well. But I have to caution you to find out more about each treatment method from your local dermatologist as different types of warts require different treatment method. The results and side effects may also vary.

I hope the above information is useful to you. If you are interested to know more about how you can effectively remove those nasty warts in a totally natural and safe way from home, do read up on my blog.

Common, Plantar And Genital Wart Treatments

Warts are growths on your skin caused by an infection with human papilloma virus, or HPV. Warts can evolve on all parts of your body. They can grow on your skin, on the inside of your mouth, on your genitals and on your rectal area. They are most common among children and young adults. They typically disappear after a few months but can last for years and can reoccur.

There are a range of treatments available for the removal of warts .

A few papilloma viruses are known to cause cervical cancer. There are five kinds of warts. They look different and form on different parts of the body. Common warts grow most often on the hands, but they may be anywhere on the body.

Plantar warts rise on the soles of the feet. They seem like difficult, dense patches of rind with blue specks. Plantar warts may induce pain when you walk, and you may look like you are stepping on a pebble. Flat warts normally rise on the cheek, weaponry, or legs. They are tiny (normally smaller than the eraser on the conclusion of a pencil), have thin tops, and can be pink, soft brown, or soft yellow. Filiform warts normally rise around the lip, nose, or beard region. Periungual warts arise under and around the toenails and fingernails. They seem like bumpy bumps with a spotty surface and edge. They can impact nail growth.

Most folk produce warts at some time in their lives, normally before the age of 20. About 1 in 10 folk in the UK have warts at any one moment. Genital warts are the most prevalent sexually transmitted transmission (STI) in the UK. There are several distinct  treatments used for the handling of warts . Laser therapy is used to kill some types of warts. Lasers are more costly and need the injection of a local anesthesia to numb the region treated. Electrosurgery (curettage & cautery) is used for especially big and irritating warts.
